History
COOPERATIVA
AGRARIA
YALPA LIMITADA
The YALPA Limited Agrarian Cooperative was born at the initiative of the members of the Southern Fruit Growers Association of the La Yarada Los Palos district, who since its creation in 2019, until 2023, worked hard to achieve for the first time the export of the Washington Navel orange that was produced in their fields in the La Yarada Los Palos district, for which they had to comply at the time with various requirements requested to offer a product of optimal quality such as good agricultural practices, which were taught by SENASA within the orange field schools (ECAS), subsequently obtaining the Global G.A.P. Certification for the orange production fields.
For that first export experience, the Tacna Citrus Export Consortium (CITRITAC) was created in 2023, made up of Washington Navel orange producing partners from the Southern Fruit Growers Association, with the purely commercial objective of exporting oranges.
All this work was carried out jointly with producer partners and with the support of private agents in technical assistance (PROCITRUS), marketing (EGA AGROINDUSTRIAL) and various government agents such as the La Yarada Los Palos District Municipality, the Regional Directorate of Agriculture, the regional government of Tacna, Prom Perú and AFIDE, who through their different projects provided and promoted support to producers through associativity.
After the experience of exporting oranges as an export consortium (CITRITAC), the following year, 2024, the YALPA Limited Agrarian Cooperative was created with broader purposes, greater than just the marketing of good quality products that meet the requirements of good agricultural practices, but also seeking the economic and social development of the producer with environmental responsibility, in order to be more competitive both for the local and international markets, adding, in addition to oranges, more products such as olives (olives and extra virgin olive oil) and oregano.
And starting in 2025, we will begin marketing these products.
We are an agricultural cooperative that promotes the sustainable development of farmers with fields that comply with good agricultural practices, offering high-quality products for the local and international markets.
Our cooperative is a leading agricultural organization that promotes the sustainability of farmers through economic development, social well-being, and environmental responsibility.
